Men have it easier?

The other night I was having, over man drinks, a conversation with an acquaintance about personal philosophy. She believed in making a strong base in life and then venturing out from that base. This is a stark contrast to my go where the wind leads view. This led to her stating that "Men sure have it easier". She fears taking risks and leaving her safety net, then bemoans missed ventures. If you see something you want, work for it. Success or failure at least you are in the fight. When you give up the fight, can you really live. Life is not safe, every now and then you have to roll the dice and see how they land. Just my view on life, right or wrong it is the path I walk.
