Another rant about the media

News:
pl.n. (used with a sing.verb)
1. a. Information about recent events or happenings, especially as reported by newspapers, periodicals, radio, or television.
b. A presentation of such information, as in a newspaper or on a newscast.

2. New information of any kind.

3. Newsworthy material.

Kind of funny I don't see any mention of biasing views, or trying to influence the views of others. Let's face it, the media has become a corrupt political tool. You turn it on and all you see is death, destruction, and political mudslinging. Let's look at today's headlines from some of the largest MSM websites.

Four U.S. soldiers charged with rape and murder

Darfur violence spills into neighboring Chad

10,000 refugees from Burundi coming to U.S.

Coalition death toll in Iraq reaches 3,000

US troops called back to put down sectarian massacre

Suicide note leads to dismembered body

7 Funeral Home Directors Plead Guilty to Selling Body Parts

655,000 dead in Iraq

Iraq vet candidate derides Bush's 'shallow slogans'

Greenfield: Could Foley's follies hurt the GOP?

Pretty scary stuff. So where is the story about the Navy Seal who threw himself on a grenade, sacrificing himself to save both his team and Iraqi personnel? Where are the stories about something good happening in the world? Where is the stories showing democratic scandals (the democrat that was having sexual relations with the 16 year old girl, and her 15 year old friend, or the democrat that got $700000 for a house he did not own, these happened)? You might also want to read what Steven E. Moore has to say about the accuracy of number of dead in Iraq (the 1200% margin of error somehow managed to escape most of the reports on this). The Media keeps it's ratings high by cashing in on fear and strife. Responsible journalism has been forsaken for sensationalism. Pandering to the mindless masses seems to be the stock in trade today.

I know what you mean. We have lost ONE guy in Iraq and he 'accidently' shot himself but the media and his family beat it up like it is some kind of conspiracy. Nothing about all the wives leaving their soldier husbands with all their hard earned, nothing about the conditions of the troops, nothing about nothing. It is all a crock and when did news become unsubstantiated 'facts'....do journos still have to get a degree?????
